FAQs

Are pellet stove parts interchangeable? ›

Are parts interchangeable? The interchangeability of pellet stove parts depends on the manufacturer and the specific models. Some manufacturers design their pellet stoves with interchangeable parts, making it possible to use the same part across different models within their brand.

Are King pellet stoves good? ›

It is phenomenal! We love it. It heats our place right up and is cozy and warm. I have no complaints.

Why is my king pellet stove not dropping pellets? ›

The hopper may be empty. Fill the hopper and allow a few minutes for the unit to auger the pellets onto the burn pot. Venting may be blocked. The Pressure Switch senses a lack of air flow and will shut the motors off.

What does error 2 mean on a King pellet stove? ›

Error Code 2: Auger Jam

Pellet clumps or foreign objects blocking the auger. Motor failure. Solutions: Shut down the stove and clear any blockages in the auger.

Can you make your own pellet stove pellets? ›

Wood pellets are made from biomass materials through a series of processes. To make wood pellets at home, you need crush the materials into small size with a wood hammer mill, then dry the crushed materials with a dryer machine(optional). After that, you can feed the materials into a flat die wood pellet mill.

Do you have to silicone pellet stove pipe? ›

The Ultimate Hearth Solution for Pellet Stove Venting

No need for silicone sealant with Ultimate Pellet Pipe. The gasket design seals the pipe tight, elimi- nating the need for silicone at the seams.

Why is my king pellet stove so loud? ›

If your pellet stove is making a roaring sound during operation, you may have a problem with the balance of air and fuel inside your appliance. Sometimes this problem can be solved by cleaning your stove or adjusting the feed rate.

How often do you have to clean a king pellet stove? ›

As a general rule, all pellet stoves, inserts and appliances require a thorough cleaning/service of the entire appliance annually or after every ton of fuel burned.

Why is my king pellet stove feeding too many pellets? ›

Pellet Stove Starts And Runs, But It Is Feeding Too Much Fuel And It Is Not Completely Burning. 99.9% of the time this problem occurs because the stove, vent, or both are very dirty. They can be so dirty that air isn't able to flow through the vent system fast enough.

How do you increase the heat output of a pellet stove? ›

A slower burn rate delivers fewer pellets to the burn pot, so less heat will be produced. The faster you burn pellets, the more heat you will enjoy. Also, the speed of the fan that is moving air through the heat exchange tubes can be adjusted from low to high.

What is error 3 on a King pellet stove? ›

I get an error message 3. The manual says this error indicates “The stove was unable to reach the Room Fan On temperature within the startup time.” The cause is “Flame or Fuel quality caused the fire to burn too slowly or go out. Auger output failure or jam Hopper empty on startup.”

What does P mean on a pellet stove? ›

The lower the P-Setting, the shorter the pause; the higher the P-Setting, the longer the pause. A lower P-Setting is ideal for low outside temperatures because it will feed pellets faster, preventing the flame from going out.

Are pellet stove pipes interchangeable? ›

Please also note that these pipes are not interchangeable as they will not connect to each other.

Are all pellet stove pellets the same? ›

Heating pellets are not all the same, just like smoking pellets. Some are made of good hardwoods, some are not.

Are wood pellets interchangeable? ›

Pellet brands are interchangeable with pellet grills. Just be sure you're only buying pellets (becuase cooking wood chips or chunks are incompatible with pellet grills and can clog the auger).

Can you burn other things in a pellet stove? ›

Short answer is only if your stove is specifically designed to. You should check your stove's installation manual to see if this is a viable option for you. Long answer is that you probably shouldn't. The first thing you need to consider when burning corn vs wood pellets is the anatomy of the plant.
