Introduction

Here’s a recipe that’s perfect for when you want to cook something slow but don’t have much time. It’s also great because it doesn’t take very long to make and then comes out delicious!

Taco soup

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover taco meat. You can also add in some cooked chicken or beans for extra protein.

  • Over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the onion until no longer pink in a large skillet. Drain off any excess grease and transfer the beef mixture into your slow cooker.
  • Stir together all of your Taco Soup ingredients in a bowl (you may want to cut back on the amount of water if you want this soup thicker). Pour over everything else in your slow cooker; make sure it’s mixed well so that everything flavors properly when served!

Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef

  • Ingredients: 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Onions, diced
  • Taco seasoning (or your favorite taco seasoning)
  • Dry ranch dressing mix (or any other type of dry salad dressing)
  • Tomatoes and black beans are optional, but they’re a nice touch! You can also use fresh tomatoes if you prefer them over canned. If you want a more authentic Mexican-style meal, add some chopped cilantro or jalapenos for extra zestiness! The possibilities are endless; just make sure to check out our recipe for how much tomato paste goes into this dish before serving it up at home or at shareable parties where everyone will be able to customize their own version of this dish as well!

1 large onion, minced

Onions are a staple in many recipes, and they’re easy to prepare. They can be used in a variety of dishes, from soups to stews and even salads. In this recipe you’ll use them as an ingredient in your crockpot dish!

1 large onion, minced (about 2 cups)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 packet of taco seasoning

Tacos and burritos are two of my favorite things to eat, so I love using taco seasoning as an ingredient in recipes. But there’s one thing that bothers me about most recipes with taco seasoning: they aren’t spicy enough!

Taco seasonings can be bought at grocery stores or online (and they’re easy to make!) If you want a little extra heat from your tacos, try adding some hot sauce or chili powder instead of just plain salt.

1 packet dry ranch dressing mix

  • 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 cup buttermilk (can be substituted with sour cream)

2 (14.5 oz) cans petite diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained

If you don’t have access to fresh tomatoes, canned ones are an excellent option. You can find them in the canned food aisle of your local grocery store and they’re usually pretty cheap! This recipe is for crockpot taco soup—one of my favorite meals on a cold day or when I’m feeling under the weather.

1 (14.5 oz) can black beans, rinsed and drained

Black beans are a great source of fiber, protein, and iron. They’re also a good source of folate, which helps with the reduction of hom*ocysteine in your bloodstream. hom*ocysteine can cause problems with cardiovascular health such as narrowing arteries or high blood pressure.

Black beans are full of antioxidants called flavonoids that help keep you healthy by fighting free radicals that cause cell damage and age us prematurely (1).

You can use these to make black bean soup or chili recipe below!

2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste

2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste

Tomato paste is a good source of vitamin A, which may help protect against cancer. It can also be used as a substitute for fresh tomatoes in many recipes.

2 cups water

  • If you don’t have a liner, use aluminum foil to line your crockpot. This will help with cleanup and also prevent your food from sticking to the sides of the crockpot. You can add more water as necessary if it looks dry or too thick.*

Salt & Pepper to taste

Salt and pepper to taste. You can add other spices, such as garlic powder or cayenne pepper. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different spices!

1 cup BBQ sauce of choice (plus more for serving)

BBQ sauce is a sweet and tangy sauce that’s made from tomatoes, vinegar, sugar and spices. It’s usually cooked for a long time over low heat in order to develop its flavor. You can use it as a marinade for meat before cooking or just eat it with your favorite meal!

Conclusion

It’s really simple to make your own dish recipes using the crockpot. If you don’t have a slow cooker, use a regular oven instead and make sure there is enough room for your ingredients so they don’t spill over into the other sides of the oven when cooking. Just keep an eye on them so that they don’t burn!
